Puma 210 943 folder

Ok the call to Puma confirmed knife was made 2nd quarter 1996! Pretty cool!
The gentleman at Puma I spoke with was kind and more than willing to help. We still couldn’t seem to make any sense of the control number stamp, and how the digits and order read correlate with year, but oh well. He did say that all made that year should have the same number, at that the “96” and “69” in the number could have nothing to do with the years, and just be coincidental. Not sure why the number doesn’t read in any of the search tools on the various websites.
Anyways, that’s all I know !
So, value is same as current production 3 tool Jagdmesser?

I don't Know. Check eBay advanced search sold listings for that year and model. If anything comes up that will give you an idea what they sold for recently.
My guess ...You'll sell it for 60% of the new price. List it here..Read and follow the rules. Maybe ask a price and/or best offer. Good luck.

Thanks Hansen for all the help on this! Appreciate it. Was a fun task digging around on the web and looking at a bunch of Pumas. They are indeed neat.
I’ve got a couple unrelated knives up on the for sale classifieds currently, or might try the trades section too.
It’s funny, my mission was to take knives I’m not currently using and move them along to someone who will, and here I am looking at other models and more knives I don’t need, LOL! I guess that’s how the cycle goes!

Thanks again man, take it easy!

Hate to burst Your bubble...It's much newer.

This 941 is from 1975. Your stamp on the main blade and the shape of the main blade is different.

The single blade version of this pattern has always had the blade shape seen on yours. The multi blade versions have always had the shape of the knife in the OP.

I just Google searched a 1975 943 . On the bay, one showed up with the same blade as mine. Actually many showed up.
I respectfully disagree.

I guess I was mistaken, it appears that 943 models have blades like yours; only the biggest one (959) has the blade like the OP. Interesting that the OP knife is marked 943, but the older catalog pages had it as the 959. I wonder if Puma changed their model designation by the time the OP knife was made. I had to dig up some Puma catalog pages that I got in the early 80s.

@ L lambertiana ,

Sir , I'm getting old and my children have no interest in my knives.
I hope the 941(above) ^^^ goes to a Man that has Your Love and Passion for Puma Knives.
Maybe we'll talk down the road.

It’s a shame that your children have no interest. Even if they aren’t into knives, they should want them for the sentimental value because they are something you treasured.

My first Puma was a pre 64 Hunter’s Friend that my grandfather gave me. I then went on to purchase a number of them for myself. I’m still kicking myself for not picking up more of them when I was in Germany ‘81-‘83. I saw some very large selections in knife stores there.

Well guys, regarding the exact knife, it is now quite literally in someone else’s hands, and hopefully will find an owner who appreciates the heck out of it in a collection, or uses it hard in the field.
I do think they’re very, very cool knives across the board. The stag, locking blades, and the prioritizing of a corkscrew on a field knife is the most charming aspect of them all, in my opinion!
