When did the White Hunters go to stainless steel? Are both of the above knives carbon steel?. John

I have no idea if Pumaster Steel is stainless or carbon. I will wait to learn as I'm sure someone here knows.

If your WH was stainless it would say "Stainless" right under the Puma White Hunter markings. John

mine is from 1960 my dads hunting knife carbon steel that was Crome plated

I don’t know if it is true for all the years Pumaster steel was used, but I have a document from the 1990s that says Pumaster is Böhler NWN80, which is a simple carbon steel with a little Cr.

Looks like it is pretty close to, if not the same as C75 carbon steel, which Boker and Carl Schleiper used. John
