I Just recieved a Kershaw Speed Bump (Black Alminum Handle) from a dealer on Ebay. When I received it, I was looking over the knife and when I was looking it over, I saw on the pocket clip, alot of little white fadded looking scuff marks. I just got done looking through some pics online, and it looks like it was on the pocket clips of the same knife also, OR where my eyes decieving me on those pics and I just got a messed up blade?

Pics help. You can always order a new pocket clip if it really bothers you. As you carry the knife, you will get marks on it anyways. If the knife works fine, just use the heck out of it!

I am sending it back to the person on Ebay, I just found some more faults with the blade, I don't know if it is because it is bead blasted, but if you look at the right angle, there is a dark spot on the blade. It is pretty noticeable.

I just checked mine and what you describe as light scuffs seems to be on my Spec Bump as well. I think you will find that such a result is due to the clips being 'binned' and rubbing together during pre-assembly. (Or I could be completely out to lunch.)

Those scuffs won't effect the function or longevity of the clip coating, so I would just use your knife and enjoy it's great design. :)
Thank you for the info and letting me know it isnt just my knife. I am still sending it back, because the bead blast isnt right, dark spots on it. PLUS I bought another knife from the person at the same time, and the person sent the wrong knife with the Speed Bump, just bad business, people make mistakes no doubt, but from now on I am sticking with the knife dealers, like yourcornerstore, or knife center etc.. Thank you for the reply.

Glad to hear you got it resolved. :thumbup:

By the way from how you described the scuffs on the pocket clip it sounds like how they normally look. Im not sure what type of finish they use on those but every one that I have seen has small "scuff marks" as well. The clips on the Blackout have the same finish. However like said before, they will scratch soon enough anyway

Tool marks. They are there because these knives are affordable, disposable users and not museum pieces. After two or three days use they blend right in.:thumbup:

Where I work they make fun of you for new looking tools! Like you're a green apprentice or something.

Scratches=character;)

I've got a spec bump and love it. My clip is a bit scratched up but the knife has been carried every work day for the last year and a half. Get you another speed bump and carry the hell out of it. Pretty tough knives!
