Purchases off BladeForums this year

So when I read this thread title I could only think of about half a dozen I'd picked up from the exchange... Help!

I guess I could pull up my Paypal record, but I'm not gonna. In my case, it would be more meaningful to state how many of those I still have...Very Few!
They flow thru my hands like water from a jug. I seem to have a problem, but I seek no cure.

Not to derail, but how are you liking the dice? Almost picked one up, but felt like it duplicated a lot of existing knifes that covered its use cases.

They always know and they always track your cell phone
Not to deviate from the thread topic, but my wife's daughter asked if she could add an app on my cell phone to "track me". I said, hell no! Call me. Text me. Track me? No.

She calls me and asked for me to check if my wife's cell phone is "on" and my response the last time was... that's a big hard since I'm 300 miles away from home......

As far as the exchange goes, I'm probably abnormal in that I have never purchased a knife through the exchange here. I don't even go there to see what folks are selling.

Probably safer that way... I know it trapped me quite a few times this year when I wasn't planning on purchasing a knife at all and just wanted to "see what was out there"... lol

Slightly more dangerous than the "what are you carrying/edc'ing" threads that have also sometimes coerced me into "checking the current price" (aka buying...) said knives that enthrall me :)

About 95% of my knives are purchased right here on the Exchange, advertised "as new" or ANIB. I have seldom been disappointed, and PayPal has my back if I wish to return a knife that was misrepresented in the sales ad. I never have. My feedback is pos 307 @ 100%.

The only time that I buy NEW from a sponsoring dealer is for a knife that I wish to keep forever, or one that cannot be easily found on the Exchange. Rather limited income prevents me from buying "NEW" much of the time.

Generally, I like to buy a knife...experience it in my hand...put it right back in the box and sell it...unless it's really special. Very few blades meet that criteria. And even then, my tastes change rather often, and so they go right back into the market, hopefully selling for only a small loss.

Yeah, that's killed me too. But mind you, I picked up some beauties through there. I guess the best option is to know what you want, and then just check the titles.

This could be bad, but I'm just gonna go backwards through my imgur and PP acts and paste in pics as I go....

I bought the red G10 here--the green Micarta came new earlier....

...and sent it to Josh at REK so it came back like this...

The first off the Exchange of 2017 which I re-sold here after about a month...

So that wasn't as bad as I thought, though I did find as many new knives on my PP act, plus a fair number of pricier beads and tools, plus a few vintage BMKs from the Big Auction Site, and a thing or two off the Big River Site too. I have sold more than a dozen this year, so that helps the balance a bit.

Should I resolve to be better in 2018 or is that just an exercise in futility? Happy New Year, y'all!

To be honest I almost never buy off the Exchange but do sell quite often. I find the prices are fairly high which is great as a seller but I can usually do better as a buyer elsewhere.

Picked up quite a few from the exchange but this one took me a very long time to find so it gets the photo
