Purple! Because Ice cream has no bones!

Hey Homey,

Here's the rest of the Cherry Burl I sent a while back, this is the &^%#$*! piece that sent a chuck flying off and hit me square in the face. It also grabbed a tool and used one of my fingers as a fulcrum on the tool rest.

That is beautiful, Scott!
Not injured? Sounded like a fight was going on!

Thanks Dennis, was wearing a powered respirator that has a high impact shield if not I would still be healing, that SOB hit me at about 750 RPM almost knocked me off my feet. I don't turn anything but pens or small spindles without it.

That's gorgeous Scott. That picture I'm sure does it no justice, the piece of that burl that I have has wild detail.

84 gajillion RPM is too fast for me to get that close to! Bet that was scary.

Thanks Johnny, the detail in this piece is amazing the pic does not do it justice.

That is a beauty! That sounds like it's actually has blood sweat and tears.

My ol' pappy always says "the more you bleed, the better it will work".

Do cuss words work too? I've got a ton of projects with plenty of that added.

It never hurts. You have to let the project know you're serious. Get a little skin in the game, so to speak.

Thanks about 13 inches. Had another fly off the lathe today and smack me in the arm *&#^$&#(^^ hurt and drew blood. Guess I have to cuss a little more next time..

Thanks Dennis didn't see you lurking down there...:)

Looking at that bowl gives me the Heebie Jeebies thinking about it spinning on a lathe. I've said it before, but, you're a braver man than I!

Hey Dennis, thought you were a Mitch, got it now:thumbup:

Did you get some forging in the other day Scott?
Whatcha forging Dennis?

Everybody's welcome to post what they've got going on in here, from knives to kneedlepoint. I love seeing folks skills.

Yeah, my parents, great sense of humor, named me Dennis Mitchell,... hi-larius! Better than Sue, I guess.

While my skill set is not in the same league as you guys, I'm working on a broken back seax. If I ever finish, I'll try to post a pick, if it's post worthy.

I was thinking the same thing with Scott spinning that piece of wood....hell no!

There's no leagues here brother, post whatever you'd like, you won't find any snobs. We'll kick their arse.

I've got everything I need for forging with coal, just no place to put it right now.

Hehehehe, The Menace!

I got a little NC Tools two burner propane forge, just health and time...need both! :)
Have a 1x42 Craftsman, so that's one area I need to get something better at some point, but just gotta get out and do it.

Where I use to work, the next building over had a guy named Wilson, so we played off that some, and their secretary was named Shirley Jones.

Ha, my last name is Conner, you can throw me in the bunch with cursed movie names.
