Put my dog down today

If you got him when you were nine and you're 24 now then that's around 15 years. That's a pretty good lifespan for a dog, so you can always take some comfort in the fact he lived a long life and was well-loved the entire time.

I sometimes think the reason we grieve for our pets so much is to harden us up for when people we love die...although for the really special ones it sometimes doesn't feel all that much different. Hang in there, because eventually the hurt fades and you can concentrate on just the happy memories.

what he said. thats a great life for a dog. you took good care of him and he knew it.. sorry to hear for your loss. i get more attached to dogs than i do most humans. they are great animals and great companions

Nothing I can add that hasn't already been said.

We've all been there, and we all felt as sad as you do.
And we'll do it again and again, until our own final end. Such power is the love of dogs.

Dogs are pure love when treated right, and often, even when not treated right.
I see God in a dog. I feel special when they allow me into their life with such open honest love.

My prayers are for you fellow dog friend.
