Great lookin' knife, Vince. Integral bolsters are always a nice touch, and the rich Remington bone and shapely sowbelly shield (one of my faves) are downright gorgeous. Enjoy it!
I've been eyeing a Case Sowbelly at the local hardware store for several weeks. After seeing Mr. Howser's version, I don't think I could ever be satisfied with a production piece. Beautiful, beautiful work. I can't stop staring at those grinds.
Vince, that knife does belong on a sagging front porch of a country store, paint peeling from the clapboard siding, an old faded red Coke machine with the lever you have to puch down, and a collection of reprobates that make up a liers circle to admire that knife.:thumbup:
I would give up every knife I have for that one! ok maybe not...but that is one awesome knife, the swedges as others have pointed out are amazing! great piece.
I read the title and thought that this was going to be about lobster patterns. I was disappointed to find out that this post was about a sowbelly - one of the most beautiful sowbellies I've ever seen. Enjoy!
Thank you all very much for your kind & witty replies. You do make me grin,a happy grin I'm sure John appreciates them, too.
