I was wandering through one of the big local antique malls, and happened on one of my Holy Grails.

A mint 125OT, with the lanyard hole. Woodgrain "The Old-Timer" box and mint sheath. I gave $30 for it and am just sublimely happy, but now I'm wondering. How old is this? I know my dad's was from about '87 and it had the lanyard hole, but what of this one?

Congrats Casey! If you show us the knife, box logos, and any papers, we might be able to help you get a close date on it.

I've been working on it, but so far not as much luck as I'd like- the gold lettering on the box is wreaking havoc with my scanner.

Here's what I have so far.

Since the box won't scan worth a darn...

Dark woodgrain, gold lettering. "THE OLD-TIMER" over "A Knife Like Grandad's" on the right, the Schrade Cutlery Corporation scroll on the left, over "SCHRADE CUTLERY CORP." over "ELLENVILLE, N.Y.".

Nothing on the one end of the box, other has "THE OLD-TIMER" in gold over a rubberstamped 125OT LOCK BLADE over a "SCHRADE CUTLERY CORP." over "ELLENVILLE, N.Y.".

Sounds early, from my research. Sheath has a single rivet holding the belt loop, with OLD-TIMER on the flap.
