putting a little handle on a flint

I was going to look through the cabinet knobs the next time I get to the hardware store-- easy enough to adapt. You could have a clear plastic/cut glass style-- but you would have to lift your pinkie when you use it :D

I also thought about using some tubing or hose-- really quick and dirty. You could make a coiled copper tubing handle that would look cool.

There you go! A flexible 1/4" id clear hose. One end of the rod plugs into one of the hose, and the other the other. Make it long enough for a necklace. Now you have a water siphon!

how does the green match up to the koster? I bought a natural micarta firesteel from DLT, but it didn't match the koster at all. So that is when I made mine. Cholla with plumbers putty + a bit a gorrilla glue.

It would match a lot better if I had a media blaster to do the finish with, but it does match pretty well on the radii of the handle with the scales of the Koster. Went out to a local park and made a fire while it was snowing. Very beautiful. Wish I had remembered the camera.

Cheers.

Those look great and I really dig the bits of hacksaw blade on the lanyard with the firestrikers. What kind of wood did you use for the handles?

Thanks dc! The handles are oak (white I believe) cut from my woods. It's free and I like the way they look!:D

Keith, I buy them plain and add handles, cheaper and can make them to my liking as well.
