putting links in threads

I feel stupid, I have put links in threads before, but cannot remember how to do it now. Have been though faq but cannot find what i need..help appreciated.

Just paste in the url -- the software automatically makes it a link (as long as it begins with either www or http:// and as long as you don't put an extra dot at the end of it just because it's the end of a sentence -- that confuses the software so omit the period).

Can I post links to threads on other forums? Or is this discouraged?

We have an agreement with USN that neither website posts links to the other. For other forums it's not usually a problem, not unless you're spamming or trying to start a cross-forum flame war.
