How many people would be willing to prepay for a run of the YCS?
(yes, this is for real....no joke...I've cleared it with Uncle Bill)

I'm not 100% sure of the cost because there's a little bit of risk involved - don't know what we'll get back. Uncle might be willing to cut us a deal if they're not 100% perfect....who knows. Right now, let's just say that the YCS would be at least $200 and up to $275 (full price).

If you're interested and have the cash ready, sign up. No prepayment yet....just want to see who would be interested in making a prepayment.


Seems like the shop's in an uproar lately and in need of work...so let's give 'em something nice to work on. :D


This would not be a plain version, but a fully dressed version with inlays, etc. I know they can do it and get it right....the proof is on my shop wall....:D

I'd be in for one for sure, and maybe another if I could swing it. Horn handle would be great if non-chiruwa, but the balance of my chiruwa one is so nice I'd almost prefer another one of those that I wouldn't mind making into a real user. Wood handle for a chiruwa one. No cho creep and a nice convex edge would help me live with eating ramen for a month or more :D
 
on this one. I am lucky to have one already. I'd say that it ranks in the top 3 best sale products ever turned out by HI. Even the later "ek chirra" models are appealing.

Nudge me when we get 'round to "HI Cableforge Langseaxes," though.:)

I've sent some exotic wood to BirGorkha. Have some Osage Orange, black walnut, purple heart, cocobolo and other types I can't remember. Anybody interested in getting this model (if it comes to fruition) in wood other than saatisal?

I think the YCS with purple heart handles would know your eyes out. Problem is I probably won't be able to communicate with the kamis regarding wood type.
 
Mr. Koster, you've snagged me again. How can i pass up a limited edition YCS!?! Put me down for one. i'll scrape the funds together some how;)

Once we get up to 8-10 names on the list, I'll start an official sign-up thread where we'll keep track of who's prepaid and what you would like on your order............can I get fries with that? :D :eek: :D


I have the YCS in CAD and will go back and make sure to annotate a non-habaki bolster, convex edge, etc.
 
I'll catch hell if my wife finds out about this, but hey, count me in. I've loved that blade ever since I saw Archangel's a couple of years ago.
 
I'm in. I've bugged Bill and Yandu for one for a couple of years now. I'd like a user in addition to the fancy, inlaid model. Fancy wood on one and user grade on the other. Matched set of fancy and user by Bura would be sweet.
 
I just traded my diamonds for some cash :D Can I get one with the purple heart. Will this particular purple heart stay purple?? I've seen some that was and other that turned brown :confused: I am a purple freak and this would be a fantastic addition to my purple collection. Plus this is one knife the kid was interested in too. So sign me up. :D
 
Sign me up for one, especially if it's saatisal or exotic wood. I'll take horn if that's what happens, though! I've wanted a YCS for a long time.

Reminder that this will be prepay only. We will start an official thread and keep track of all payment transactions on that thread. Each person on this list will be put on a mailing list to be notified of updates, etc. All this is to keep everything on the up-and-up and keep it fair.

I'll probably order 2-3 more than what's been prepaid - just in case. But don't count on it being sold as a blem/BBB/DOTD/etc.....;)


Bill's put me in charge of this - so all questions, concerns, complaints, suggestions, etc. need to go through me. I will need to be "cc"-ed on payments, etc. This is for your benefit as well as Bill's sanity and peace of mind.

If your name is on this list - you need to agree to these terms. I will post the terms when I start the official sign-up thread.
