Putting secondary bevel on a Mora?

I've put a secondary bevel on a couple of my Moras and puukkos. While I still love a true scandi grind for woodworking, putting a secondary bevel on a Mora or puukko makes the edge tougher and better suited for all around use. In fact, some puukkos come with a secondary bevel straight from the manufacturer like my Lapin Puukko camping model.

If you really get into scandis, try out kosters in 3v. The steel allows for a true scandi that will hold it's edge because of the toughness of the steel.

I got in on the first batch of Kosters and it did hold a great edge, but I could not sharpen the 3V! That's stuff is tough.

I don't use secondary bevels on convexed or scandinavian knives, because that would nullify the advantage of such grinds.

But for convenience in field sharpening, and edge durabiity I will sometimes set a micro-bevel on scandi and convexed utility knives.

Sharpening a secondary edge on a Mora intended for woodworking is like doing the same thing to the back of a wood chisel. It just doesn't work the same.
