Apparently the fire in our wood furnace was left unattended for to long. This happens when everyone thinks someone else is handling it. No big deal, it just leads to fire starting practice. I grabbed 'ol #31 and my digital camera for some impromptu action shot practice with the Gorillapod.

Releasing the bottom two fingers whilst batonning is detrimental to a solid strike.

Taken just before I let off on the digits.

I pretty much batonned the hell out of that chunk.

Threw half the kindling in the furnace and the other half in a firebox that we keep some tools in by the wood pile for later use.

The fire took off without issue and we all kept from freezing to death.

Right on, Murph.

It has been a couple months since I got the M-18 out to play. Makes me want go put the smackdown on some trees.

Thanks for sharing.

Fire in the box is much preferred over freezing to death.
M-18 your own wood and warm yourself twice.

Thanks fellas. To be honest, I had the Becker RBK in hand, but on the way across the living room I turned back for my M-18. I'm glad I did. Not that the RBK couldn't handle the task, but some of the chunks were pretty solid, almost like they were frozen.
