I was inspired by all the nice Puukko knives that @jelio posts in the custom and handmade section.
What I really like about his version is the crisp facet he gets between the flat bevel and the flat taper toward the narrower spine.
This is my first attempt.
I managed to get that part of the grind to work pretty well.
I angled the blade to put a large area onto the platen.
I think my critical error was that I extended the grind right down the tang and didn't make the tang cross-section rectangular afterwards.
When I tried to file the guard to match the irregular tang shape I got an annoyingly bad fit.
The handle came out nice in African blackwood, but all I see is the JB Weld in the gap...
(you can see it in the third photo)
Anyway, next time I think I know what to do.
Otherwise it is 3/16" (at thickest point) CPM 3V @60 (Peters), with 416 stainless and African blackwood.
