PVD coatings

I normally don't do "tactical" type knives, but a customer wants a knife with black blade, bolsters, etc.
I refuse to use any of the paints as they don't hold up, nor does bluing. Therefore the only option left is PVD coating or nitriding.
Does anyone know who will do these processes on parts for one knife?
Thanks!

I do not have an answer but will be following out of interest. I briefly looked into PVD but only found small watch makers who wanted around $200 each and larger operations that had a minimum $1000 order, not worth it for me but I'd like to see what else is available.

I work with a lot with a company called Wheel Pros, they make American Racing, XD Wheels, etc and use a lot of PVD chrome coatings for their wheels, pretty rugged stuff. I will try to find out who does it for them and see if they will do small orders for things other than wheels tomorrow and post what I find out here.

Have a look at whatever Pro heat treat companies you would deal with, many of them do the coatings too.

I was quoted about $80 for Ionbond DLC by jabuie.com today.
Thank you all for your responses.

That price was from one or their contractors, and it was for one knife.
Looking into jimmyseymore's information. Thank you!
