I have a friend from Canada interested in getting a balisong, apparently where he is from Balis are not restricted, does anyone know what method of shipping pvk/knifezilla uses to get them to Canada?

I believe hes from Montreal.

You could always take one apart and send it as a "kit".

I've ordered a switchblade from PVK, it came to me perfectly fine. I've also ordered 2 balisongs and they also came fine with no problems, without a kit.

Australian law SPECIFICALLY outlaws the importation of ANY folding knife parts. That's really poor advice, especially in an open forum.

As far as I know, ALL Balisongs and automatic knives are ILLEGAL and highly restricted in Canada, so this subject should not be discussed here.

We can discuss the subject of them being illegal, but not the practical how-to of violating the law.

Agreed Chuck.

I lived in Canada for many years, and Canada has some of the most restrictive Knife and Gun laws in the world.

I should have specified That the "illegality of shipping" Balisongs to Canada, should not be discussed here.

I think the reason it was brought up is because I think they claim on their site they can get them their, dont quote me on that, I think I they have a sign saying they will ship their. That being said, listen to Gollnick, and TCS, as it is a understatement saying it is difficult to get balisongs in canada, of course it is illegal so the difficult factor does not play in at all technically.

i said Aussy ... not aussie ... aussy as in Aussillon, France

Balis are legal in France..

Whatever Josh does he seems to know what he is doing anyway.Only ever used him a couple of times and had no problems unlike many other places. However,i did once purchase one of Chris Olofson's and, after a bit of humming and hawing he got back to me saying he couldn't guarantee it due to the weight of the knife so he refunded.

Well this sucks, Work is forcing me to move there next month for a while . Im guessing this means Im gunna have to leave my balis at home. Sorry about that wasnt really familiar with there laws..

If he is in Montreal just have it shipped to a friend on the other side of the border in NY and then drive over and pick it up and drive back.

Sure it is a pain in a butt but so are canadian laws.

You will find there are many flippers in a few of the forums from Canada and one of the top balisong makers in the world is also from Canada.

Balisongs are prohibited on a federal level so i don't see how Montreal could be exempt from that law unless he got permission from the RCMP to own one.
