The One, The Only, The Original!
PWYP VIII Practice What You Preach
April 23rd - 26th, 2009
Chestnut Mountain Proving Ground
McDowell Co., North Carolina
Practice What You Preach is an annual camping trip held in the foothills of NC. This is the 8th straight year for this event. The purpose is for like minded individuals to meet and share information on outdoor survival.
The location is on private property in McDowell Co. NC. The site is located just off Highway 221 about half way between Rutherfordton and Marion, NC (maps and directions will follow)
There are NO facilities on the property. No electricity, only natural water (streams and small pond), and the only items provided with be porta-johns. Camping will be in whatever fashion you prefer (my way of saying, Every man or woman for themselves. In the past, most have used tarps or tents. Meals are totally up to the individuals. We will provide the location, a few educational programs, and a few fun contest. All else is up to the individuals attending.
There will be two events taking place prior to PWYP so the gate will not be opened until 12:00 noon on Thursday the 23rd.
This is an open invitation. Men, Women, and Children (and dogs) are all welcome. If you bring children or dogs, they are your responsibility and should not be left unattended at any time.
