Pygmy Falcon II

May I ask you to elaborate on that?

was hiking a higher lakeview trail at Buntzen Lake that had a lot of snow and ice. Lots of blowdowns and my rc3 did a good job taking out enough branches for us to get through with a 1ft stick to baton flush with the trunk. I take the time to do this so no-one(man or beast) gets stuck. I like to do a little trail maintenance every time I'm out.
Spot (10 years in may) would not be so tired but still swims in the freezing water as soon as we get there, then 10 km up and down switchbacks. The old guy used to carry 20lb saddle bags. I've been busy shopping for a house and have not run him enough lately, I can feel it in my ankles from slippin around, 2 poles are needed, that or a bruised ass.

I hope Spot is feeling better soon.:)

Wow, great set up Jeff:thumbup:

Thanks Jeff, that helps me alot.... need to get you a SS cup to fit the nalgene bottle and it will all ride in netted pocket on side.

Tony, don't you find it a real PIA to get that cup in and out of that pocket?

I now just keep it in the pack with a poncho stuffed inside it.

In my other bottle holder I keep some ziplocks for foraging wild edibles. Berry season is apon us over here:)

not really Tony, But my PFII has Evolved since this thread.... Big time.... I did leave one bottle /cup in Rightpocket and in left is my Nylon tarp thingy and in the sinch strap I have a collapsable fishing rod & Reel(Abu-Garcia )and in the main compartment is my Katadyn Vario, insect net and other misc. items

I just ordered my PF2 along with two GPS/Compass pouches.

I'm in trouble with Mrs. Spark, and she's not even in the country right now.

Haha. Well if your in the dog house, might as well make it worth it!
Then buy some roses...always works for me.

I think I did really good this go around. The PF2 and a round of golf were my only splurges. Previouse violations sometimes consisted of guns and motorized toys.....I'm getting better, or my job is working me harder. She will definately get some roses though. :D

Great looking setup, helps to see what the experts carry

I'm looking for a pack that I can carry to work during the week and use for a day pack for camping on the weekends. I've narrowed it down to the Falcon II and the Pygmy Falcon II and I am having a hard time deciding. After looking at all the photos everyone has posted in this forum, I think that the Pygmy Falcon II is the way to go because it looks like the Falcon II will be a little large. Does anyone have any advice to offer?

guh I'm with Greg. I've narrowed mine down to the PF2, Falcon2, and Condor 2.

I really like the PF2 for the bottle holders, but I dont know about its size. I'm 6'5" and I'm concerded that the PF2 would like tiny on my back. Dementions say it's 19" long which i think would be ok length wise, but 9.5" wide? That seems really slim. Can anyone assure me? I'm really close to ordering one of these 3.

I'd definatley add the Triad Admin pouch too.

Tony.. I'd like to see your PF2 updated setup.

P.S.- what is that pouch attatched to the Jeffs rig on the top left side?

I prefer any pack or bag that accepts bottles,I'm not a fan of bladders... I am 5'9" and I like the size of the PF II .

Are you worried about encountering the outdoors backpack fashion police or carrying stuff? Who CARES if it looks "tiny" on you! Anything besides an old Special Forces / Bavarian Bergen is going to look small to tiny on you! :D

lol... you never know when those woodland fashion po pos will pop out of a bush :)

I think I'll be ordering a PF2 as soon as my Shotgun sells over on gunbroker.com.
