I recently purchased a Spyderco Q-Ball from the exchange, and received it in the mail today. What a great knife!
Black G10, Wharncliffe blade, wire clip and VG-10 steel. It’s slim, ergonomic and has a decent cutting edge for the overall length.
I wouldn’t mind seeing a sprint run in Micarta, wire clip and CruWear and an upgrade to a compression lock!

Yup. The Q-ball is one of my absolutely favorite Spydercos. Great knife.

I really wanted to like mine, but it has the worst lock stick of any knife I have ever owned.

Never even saw them for sale when they were available. Looks like I missed out. I like the look though. How easy is it to manipulate the lock? Looks like you need ultimate manipulation dexterity to operate it.

Reminded me of a Cold Steel Tuff Lite! I’m sure it’s very ergonomic and that blade shape is awesome. Never got around to buying one even after they were discontinued.

Why is that? I've never handled one but it just looks like a caged ball bearing lock without the cage, right?

If I open it very, very slowly and use it very lightly, I can release the lock with my finger and thumb. If I snap it open or cut anything hard, it locks up so tight that I have to use a screwdriver to pry the ball back to release it. It's the only ball bearing lock I've ever had do that.
