Cliff, in a nutshell, what is the best hardness on the following steels for GP work with 5" blade length.

1. 1095
2. O1

Grinds will be mid height, hollow ground. Is flat ground a better option?

Do you have any reviews on knives that match these specs?

What do you mean by general purpose work?

simply around the camp chores, hunting, fishing, fod prep. So I guess edge holding is more important than anything....

yes mate, all of the above but to a general degree, nothing too out of the ordinary!
