A little google came up with this:thumbup:;
I answered my own question:foot:
Anyways, feel free to discuss..has anyone used something like this?
DANG, that's FANCY!
years ago, my family went on a camping trip and somehow the poles and fishing tackle got left behind. we got to the lake and i spent some time wandering the shore the first day. scavenged a BUNCH of line and tackle.hooks on leaders, snap swivels, slip sinkers. no actual lures tho.
a friend of my father's was a ranger there. he told me how to set up the tackle, use a short stick and hand cast the line. anyway, put a slip sinker on the line, tie a snap swivel on the end of the line and use the snap to attach to the leader. bait the hook with whatever. this lets the bait move freely when the fish nibble at it, and they end up swallowing it deeply. i kept having to ask a baitcaster near me to help me unhook the fish.
the stick i used was about 1" diameter and 10" long.
i outfished all the other fishermen on the cove i was at combined, and hit the limit in a few hours. went back to camp with a stringer full of fish for dinner.
it's not the "kit" that matters, it's knowing how to use it. but basic tackle is a big help. you just don't NEED a pole or fancy lures.
there also is, or was a product called the "streamline" which was a plastic handle you could cast from and wind the line onto. looked similar to some of the kite string handles. last time i checked their website wasn't working tho.
i've also read of some people using a coke/beer can or plastic soda bottle.
