QC on 940-1?

From what I have seen over the years the edge geometry has been in the 50-60 Degrees inclusive range, now I understand that it keeps the bevel really small so the knife looks better...

It doesn't bother me because I reprofile and sharpen everything right out of the box before I use or test them, but for others I am not so sure it's a positive thing.

I would recommend going with a more normal 40 Degrees inclusive edge bevel for the masses....... :)

This is at 30 Degrees inclusive.... As an example....

Looks Like a sweet edge....Did you test this knife already?

Sometimes it pays to pay a little more. I bought a 940 and a 531 from a B&M just outside Holbrook AZ on my way through a couple of months ago. I checked them before buying and both are near perfect.

Ditto.

I too bought a 940-1 and a 531 at the same time from a local dealer. Got a "fair" price, but could have saved a few dollars online and gambled with the QC. Both of mine are also near perfect. I'm sure in some ways they wouldn't stand up to the scrutiny of some.

Got my 940-1 today, doesn't have the grind issue that the OP has.

Need to reprofile it and test it now...

Got it in, reprofiled it, here are before and after reprofiling to 15 Degrees per side.
