I like this Karambit quite a bit.

I think I'd like to add it to my collection because I like the "futuristic/steampunk" look yet it still looks like a very effective and stout knife.

If I bought it I'd add a zip tie mod to wave it out of the pocket.

Anyone have any experience good or bad with this knife? Theres no reviews on YouTube..

Thanks!

Jus bought the quartermaster templeton
Jus a overbuilt beast..
Super thick spine..
For $116 cant beat that
I was playin with that quartermaster frame lock karambit..
I don't think you can go wrong with that purchase.!

I have B.A. Baracus and i love it...The zip tie mods works good to...and it is stout !!!!!

Ya know....i don't think their bad at all....I've been carrying it for a few weeks now and its fine !!!!

Ok, I've checked out these knives in the past and always found them interesting. But my question is.. How the hell did I miss the names they were giving these blades!?!? Absolutely, totally, completely and utterly AWESOME!!! I may have to get a Murdoch just because of its name.

I have one. It's a fun knife, though not particularly practical except as a really expensive box cutter and/or pencil sharpener. :D The ergos are pretty decent, despite the angular appearance of the handle. I can't say how well it functions as a karambit in a martial arts sense, since I'm not trained to use one. I bought it just because I thought it looked cool. Fit and finish are excellent, no play in any direction, locks up early and solid, and came razor sharp. If you like it, buy one. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

You can see the lockup on mine in post #12 of this thread. It won't budge any farther over, even with a hard push with both thumbs.

Does it wave out of the pocket without a zip tie mod? I just saw a video on some guys Instagram waving it out of his pocket but it didn't have a zip tie mod...

It may sound like a stupid question but the name don't mean anything to me, are they some kind of reference ? What do they mean?

Named after the characters from the A-Team. Also have seen a Higgins and a Thomas Calvin who were characters on Magnum PI

I have a Murdock and the ergos look horrible, but it is shockingly comfortable to hold. No obvious hotspots, and the handle texture is just enough to keep grip without getting rid of all of that pesky hand skin. I also tried the zip tie wave, and while it does work it does not have a 100% success rate. I feel dumb to pull it out trying to wave, only to sit there for a second like a doofus with a closed knife.

One thing I gotta recommend with a Quartermaster knife is to take it apart, clean it real well, and give it a generous coating of your preferred lube in the bearings (they have a small reservoir to hold a little oil). Both of mine came from the factory bone dry with poor action, and a little lube made them almost as smooth as my Domino.

I haven't tried to wave mine out of a pocket, so I don't know if it works without a zip. I just pull it out, stick my thumbnail up against the larger blade hole, and give it a flick. Opens like an auto. I can see how the names could be of little meaning to someone your age. As said, they are named after various 80's tv characters, including The A Team, Magnum PI, and now Three's Company (believe it or not :D). They also have a couple in the pipeline named after guys from Miami Vice, but they haven't been released yet. I was born in '70, so I grew up with these shows.

Theseus, if you're still looking at Qmaster karambits, I have a QTR-5 "TC" on the way from knifecenter as we speak. Once I get it I'll compare it to the Baracas and let you know what I think.

The QTR5 is more expensive, any idea why? I got the Texas Tea finish Baracas, I love it and the ZipTie wave works great but I'm keeping it as an adventure knife since it's so heavy. I'd still love to see that comparison when you get around to it, thanks!

Not sure why the cost is higher, but knifecenter.com has 'em for $125 shipped right now, which is only about $30 more than I paid for my Baracas. Since I have 3 QM linerlocks, I wanted to try a framelock, and the TC looks pretty beefy (plus I love kamrabits/hawkbills). I'm interested in seeing how the ring on the TC fits my chubby finger. One of the things I love about the Baracas is the huge ring. We'll see. I'll make some comparisons and take some crappy cell phone pics (:D) of the two together when the TC gets here.

Okay, the TC is here. Same high quality I've come to expect. Solid lockup, smooth pivot, and razor sharp. This one feels much more compact that the Baracas, though it isn't actually a whole lot smaller. The ring, though noticeably smaller that the one on the BA, fits my chubby index finger just fine. One cool aspect on this one is that if you mount the pocket clip on the left side but carry it spine forward on your right side, you can use the the front part of the "notch" in the spine of the blade to wave it open out of the pocket. I've since mounted it this way, but I took the pics beforehand. Here are a few craptacular phone pics as promised.

I love it! I'll probably carry the BA for a while and later sell it in exchange for this one, I do have small size hands and this one seems much more comfortable also because the protrusion on the ring is not as big as the BA. I'll post a pic of my Texas Tea BA when I get a chance
