I rember when I bought my first 500.00 plus busse and just stared at it like a piece of art disecting every inch. Then I dyed the micarta patinad the sr101 and beat the crap out of it, all though it didn't have that brand new art gallery look.. I was much happier knowing how it performed as a tool after!!!! Those Imperfections make them unique and your own :)

I don't care about machining marks, they warn you. I do plan on using this knife heavily and I know it will do any job I need it to. I'm just being a ocd maniac about certain things, mainly the weird grind job
Hmmm

I guess when you tried to stir up things a month and half ago you did not then or now feel like posting pictures of this lack of quality control.

Jerry said to e-mail him the same day.

You say that you sent it in and they gave you a new knife but it has "new issues" but again no pics ?

If you do this in a forum dedicated to the appreciation of the knives with no example how can you expect any other results than people questioning your validity or intentions ?

I have been using and collecting Busse and Kin knives over 20+ years and several hundred knives and I have not had the supposed examples of things you are talking about.

So follow the rules of this forum my friend and go to the source and let him fix the problem.

And some friendly advice;

If you do not want to be seen as a troll post pics and go to the source if the problem is not fixed then come back with some pics.

Contact the shop FIRST. Give us the opportunity to look at the problem and to fix it. If we DO NOT fix the problem or are so drunk that we refuse to assist you, (This has NEVER happened) then you can bring it to the forums and feel free to vent.

Given the proper tools, it does not take much to destroy a great knife. Given the internet, it does not take much to destroy a great reputation.

We have NEVER left a customer unsatisfied, when given the opportunity.

If you post about a problem before giving us the opportunity to fix it, your post may be deleted or locked.

I retired from a company that makes big yellow earthmoving machines.

They are known for being rugged and reliable, and they are expensive.

In some parts of the world, customers were very aware and attentive to things like the paint finish on the bucket teeth, or scratches on a dozer blade. Seriously, that can be an issue for some customers, and of course customers are why companies exist.

Way back when, Jerry was made aware of blades going out that weren't as sharp as customers would like, so he implemented the "sharpened by" inserts to be included with the swine sharp test sheets.

A long winded way to say that quality does matter to Busse in my opinion.

Of my many Busse products, I have not had one that was clumsily ground, and all have been finished as implied and expected.

I hope your future purchases will be as I have experienced.

Maybe it's a Bosse knife and Larry's warranty/QC isn't like Busse and Jerry's service? Until we see pics well never know 🤗

OP can PM me if he has pics or of course Jerry can open it back up to comment at any time.

As Jaxx said no purpose keeping these threads open when everything is speculative.

There is no need to open another thread on this subject.

If you talk to Busse again first and they do not help you out (very doubtful ) then we can revisit.

Opening another thread would not be useful, or advised.
