Quality Folders with Micarta Handles

i have several Al Mar knives with Micarta handles. Also check some of AG Russell knives with Rucarta handles, I think its pretty much the same as Micarta.

I like micarta too but I haven't found any knives that I like with micarta in a long time. Based on some that I have bought, it seems like G10 is pretty much functionally the same.

I have lots of knives with rough G10. It looks different from rough micarta but is probably functionally the same or better.
I have a Benchmade 581 with smooth but not polished G10, it is similar to smooth canvas micarta.
I have a Spyderco Vallotton with polished G10 that looks 95% like polished micarta.

I'm very pleased with my SOG Kiku. An attractive micarta handle, very smooth operation, and and a strikingly good looking blade.

Dendra Knives use micarta handle scales. These are made by LionSteel in Italy. Price is comparable to BM and Spyderco, with the Dendra folders costing anywhere from ~$100 to ~$200 depending on the model. The Deer Hunter I have, lowest priced model@ $113, has excellent construction, easily on par to what I have received from Spyderco, BM, and ZT. The folders are all of the larger variety with 4" blades and heavy builds. The Deer hunter weighs in at 7.3 ounces.

Btw, the micarta handles are machined and really look good, to me at least, with dark/light contrasting.

The already mentioned Citadel/Fox Deimos comes with black micarta handle scales. This knife is also Italian made and in the same price range as the Dendra, with excellent construction.

Quality can be inexpensive. The Kershaw Crown is really nice and if you weren't aware it was made in China you'd think it a much more expensive knife.

Bob Dozier uses micarta a lot for his folders

i just picked up an older Moki with nice black micarta scales, really fine .. a Moki 01MK-300

i have one cheaper Chinese, a Navy K-611 folder, with nice micarta scales, robust brass liners, 440c blade, not a copy of anything afaik

I second what sonnydaze says, I have a small seb 21 micarta and a large seb 21 Insingo micarta in my pocket. It's just....perfect.

I have those, and they are great. But we are talking about folders with full micarta scales.

The Moki Fish Owl's are great knives in Micarta.
I have the small one, and its made at a custom level. I've never seen a lock back made this well. I have some make by Moki for others, but they aren't made as well as the ones Moki makes for themselves.

I haven't checked this thread lately, but I'll check out a few of the knives mentioned above.
If anyone can think of knives(folders) that hasn't been mentioned please list them here. Thanks.

AG Russell has some folders with Rucarta which is pretty much the same as Micarta.

Al Mar Ultralights and SLB also have Micarta handles.

Fox Knives may have some too.

Enlan Bee EL-04. But you know....standards and all.

+1 on that, I have two, a Bee and an Enlan, I didn't plan it like that but that's what was delivered, the scales are a green/black Micarta -

They're polished, a bit glossy, but a rub over with wet/dry to glaze bust the scales and they grip really well.
They sell for about $13 shipped, bargain.
