I want a under 7 inch, full tang neck knife for under $175, any recommendations? I would prefer a kydex sheath but won't hesitate to buy an aftermarket sheath.. I also would like stainless steel since its still rather hot in Louisiana and sweat.. Thanks!

Check out Joe Calton's stuff - well made, very well thought out, and very well tested. I have no experience with his 440C but imagine he does it right!

Evans Knife & Tool, I just bought the cf version of his last run and it is nice for $126 delivered. S35VN steel and a hand formed kydex sheath with standard the G-10 scales also included in case I want to change them out for a dirty job/weekend vs using the beautiful cf scales. Search the forum...here is a guy that bought one for his daughter http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/1337555-Evans-Knife-and-Tool?highlight=evans+knife

Here is a list for his next run http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/1339178-First-dibs-on-the-next-companion-run-Updated-11-7-15

I have not used it very hard yet but it has nice f&f and was received sharp.

Survive! GSO Necker 2. CPM 20CV and 6.4" overall. Current price $99 and comes with an awesome kydex sheath. Not sure if the blade length of 2.25" is alright with you.

+1 I carry mine both on the waist and more recently around my neck. it's lightweight, sharp as hell, and will take a pretty stout beating for its size. I've carried daily for over a month now, and it's handled everything I've thrown its way with ease.

Good call. You wanna bet that Joe nailed down 440c exactly before letting us have a peek at it. Read about his background, guy is serious about his work. He may still have some carbon steel neckers around, check his website. Joe knows steel. I like his stuff...... Russ

Where can you buy it? I did a google search and I couldn't find any places that had them in stock!

If you have problems with rust like I did, I'd say give the new ARK a try.

Mine ended up being my favorite neck knife, 60-70$, ultralight, really inobtrusive, secure sheath.

Typical Spyderco quality and sharpness.
And you can sweat all you want on it!

White River Backpacker or Caper. S30V, 3" blade, 7" OAL. The Backpacker is basically the unfinished blank with a paracord wrap and a very flat kydex sheath, with a generous length of matching paracord to hang it around your neck. The Caper is completely finished out with a full handle, flush edges, and (on the pricier models) a nicer sheath. Their stonewash is very nice, but you can also get the Backpacker in "black ionbond coated."

Contrary to their web site's assertions, their knives do not come "hair shaving sharp," but that's fixable. If you don't want carbon steel, it's the best non-custom option I know of—although, seriously, there are much better options in 1095.
