Quality of Byrd knives vs Spyderco

Byrd are good knives. Their fit and finish might be slightly lower than Spydercos, comparing my Cara Cara and Endura, but they're still good user knives.

Better steel in regular Spydercos too.
I bought a Cara Cara to compare and was impressed considering the price.
The "fit" was just as good, and the finish was the only "slightly lower" part vs. my Endura, but it still was satisfactory.

Thanks for all your reviews. I think I am going to get a Byrd knife, probably the Cara Cara.

I think the Cara Cara will give you a good idea if you will like the Byrd line.

Well, OP specifically asked what was the differences besides the blade material, pretty sure he was already aware of the better steel, lol.

You're being pretty sure is a good reason for you not to comment on the steel...I try to not assume too many things. LOL

OP also said he is going with a Byrd, so the point is moot. LOL

I love my Cara Cara 2. It is like nothing else in the Spyderco catalog for ergonomics in lockbacks with that blade size. The closest I can think of it the Calypso, which costs 6 times as much, about.
