Quality of steel and heat treat in Ruike and Realsteel knives

There are a few Real Steel models that have lefty clips, but to my knowledge there isn't a single Ruike model that is reversible. It's actually a trend I'm very disappointed to see in Chinese companies, little to no lefty support.

Because there are basically no left hand people in China. Estimated 1% versus 12% worldwide. It's a cultural thing. They don't like left handers.

For those interested, a few pics of the Ruike Hornet with its included sheath. I'm quite impressed with this sheath and the included G-clip (or whatever you call that clip type :) ) at this price point. The sheath adds a lot of value and makes this a complete knife. The retention is really good, though not perfect. The blade snaps audibly into place and is firmly seated. There is just the smallest amount of lateral movement when it's seated, not enough to be bothersome or rattle, and you could hardly expert a perfect sheath at this price point (I'm picky about sheaths :) ). The draw is smooth and just enough resistance to ensure you could mount the knife in a tip up carry configuration without worrying about it falling out, yet still draw fairly easily.

On the knife itself, it is a slicer and comes shaving sharp from the factory. In a light EDC fixed blade, I definitely prefer this thinner blade profile, as opposed to the "prybar" type of concept. If this 14C28N steel from Ruike pans out--it performs well in cutting tasks and sharpens well--then this knife will be high in my "low cost high value knives" list. :)

+1 on the Ruike P801. It holds an edge well, and I can get it wicked sharp. Edge retention is good while not extraordinary.

I picked one of these up a couple of weeks ago. Has everything I like for EDC: deep carry clip, thin blade and overall thin profile, enough blade length at just under 3.5", full flat grind, sufficient belly on the blade, smooth action, good centering, solid lockup. Very pleased with mine.
