Quality production dive knives?

The Buck Intrepid is the best production knife I know of on the market for the money at this time. I have been lucky enough to be using a Carson U2 for a couple of years.
You would be advised to invest in a Sentry solutions Marine Tuf-Cloth as well. I also like the Mission Titainium knives but the U2 design is better. I have two prototype commercial dive knive designs being bid on by a manufacturer now. I hope to get the pre-production prototypes by the blade show.

I would also suggest you get a custom Scabbard from Frank Sigmon. He does the best U2 work.

Perfection is a never ending search.

Cheers,

ts

Guns are for show. Knifes are for Pros.

I have a randall 16. It's biggest short coming is that they will not add serrations to a knife. Which I think are nessary in a dive knife. The teeth are primarily for aluminum, as in aircraft fuselage. If they would serrate the blades they would be much more useful. For a small knife I use a remora (serated) mounted on my high pressure hose/console. I'd like to check out a Mission MPK but an economical alternative might be Ocean Masters knives also mad of beta TI alloy. I've been looking for a really good dive knife for a long time. I'm a comercial urchin diver. And I haven't found one yet.

I second Spark and MDP, you can't go wrong with the Kit Carson U2. I'm serious! Look no further..

Unless finances direct you to a more economical choice, such as the "production U2", the Buck Intreped. The Intreped comes with a Kydex sheath as well, so you don't have to worry about sheath corrosion and/or failure.

Yeah! Drop the chalupa...

BMW,
Can I see Frank Sigmon's work on the Web? Also, what's your opinion on the original Intrepid sheath?

Diver John,
Commercial urchin diver? Ouch...

Seriously though... It IS hard to find a good dive knife, isn't it?
And I couldn't agree more: serrations - for rope, fishing line and nets - are really important underwater.
