Anyone have any experience with the Quartermaster General 2 knife that's designed by G&G Hawk? They're on sale right now and they look like pretty fun/unique knives. Since it's such an unusual design, one of its kind in the knife world, I thought it would be nice to get some feedback from actual owners before purchasing. Thanks for your time!

Yeah Brandon. Not much love here for that company brother.
Most of us will advise you to steer clear of them.......me included.

yep id recommend g&g hawk designs ingenious and top notch, but qm made....not a fan myself so id pass.

I feel you on this. I'm a big fan of G&G Hawk, but there are so many questions about Quartermaster that I would steer way clear. There are so many questions surrounding them, their country of manufacture, if the steels used are the ones they claim, the statements on their website, etc. Just bad juju.

That design is so weird you can almost forget it's made by the forum's most hated knife company.

As said above, I'd steer clear. Yet another company built on lies to sell knives.

I agree that the design is interesting and unique. It is the Hawks after all. I also agree that qtrmstr should be avoided. I have no idea what's behind it, but I find it interesting that this particular collaboration is not listed on the Hawks' website. Not in their history section either. Maybe just got missed? Who knows?

So if you like the design, do what I did and wait for a Kershaw E.T. to pop up on the exchange. Yes they are discontinued and you don't see them frequently, but they do come up occasionally. It's more true to the original design anyway.

They chimed in about that in the past, I remember. I honestly can't recall what was said, but the impression I got was that they were not pleased with the deal.

Yup! If I remember correctly there was another maker that had issues with them also. Can't remember which though.
Just a company I will continue to avoid.

Warren Thomas was the other maker with some fairly damning issues regarding them. I've scrolled through dozens of old threads, and while I couldn't find anything regarding the Hawks' feelings, I do now feel the need for a hot shower.

Ditto. I love G&G designs, but this is a pass. Looks like a strange version of the Kershaw ET.

Dont buy Quartermaster. they are made in china and the brand lies and says they are made in USA/Texas. dont support this.

G&G Hawk are awesome guys, but we cannot support a proven liar.

Gavin basically didnt know that quartermaster were liars when they sold them the patent to manufacture it. i posted the reply in one of the quartermaster threads, dunno which one.

add me to the list of "nope". The fact that G&G don't list them as collaborators alone tells me all I need to know.

I have picked one up and tried it. Interesting design, but very big and bulky. No knowledge of any of their business practices. Just a big bulky knife, not something I would purchase.
