Been looking for a Quartermaster QSE10 Biff Tannen... and while browsing Ebay found several for sale for around 30-40 $ !?

Surely this must be cheap copies(?)
Looks like they’re shipping from China...

Too good to be true right...?

Deals that are too good to be true usually are not.

That said, the "truth" of Quartermaster knives are always in question.

Sorry, Hardashell, that wasn't helpful.

1) Welcome.
2) QRTRMSTR Knives have a, how to put it, "history" here.
3) At that price, no, it is not real. Unless it is used or something.

Do a search here before you support that scummy company.

You can contact Quartermaster themselves but I think they are too busy in their high tech secret facility with declassified CIA security equipment, design studios and think tanks....

Thanks!

Oh, brief me in on the bad history if you have time.

Do you have the clearance to know the truth about QTRMSTR? I hear that they used double-layered walls and windows so that OpFors can't use a parabolic mic to hear the sounds of their retina reading security system and determine how to defeat it.

They manufacture in the dark, just to keep light discipline.

More serious answer- they are shady A.F.
They claim to have security systems that would be absurd outside the context of a CIA black site. They claim to have a three story museum, yet nobody can actually find them. They don't have a real address. They have never directly answered the question of where the knives are made... Seriously, they're bad news. When there are such great companies around, you can do better.

Yupp. Just found the search button here on the forum (thats how new I am).

Shame. Really like the knife. Wont give 150$+ in their pocket if the stories are true.

Thanks

The short and sweet is this; They claim to be made in the USA but much evidence has come to light over the years that says the company has their knives made in China and then resells them as USA made.

Avoid like the plague.

Buy a quality knife from a reputable company instead.

Hang around for a while and you'll discover far better and more useful knives.

Ohh....and hang on to your wallet.

I was in a similar boat as you, fortunately I did some research and perused BF before dropping cash on them. I liked a particular design made by them, but given the price I looked into the company more. Turned out they are pretty much BS Artists of the highest grade. I don't mind China made knives if the quality is there, but being lied to leaves a sour taste in my mouth so I dropped the knife from my X-Mas Wishlist so to speak. Plenty of reputable knife makers and companies out there more deserving of you hard earned cash.

You kinda answered your own question in the title of the thread with the word fraud....

I for one have never questioned their proud Chinese heritage, er, I mean they're handmade in the USA in a defcon 19 black site with three story museum.

Don't forget the NASA level clean rooms.
