UPDATE: Got a winner! Yosemite Sam with post #27 after having http://www.random.org/integers pick a random number between 1 and 90. Congratulations Sam!

Today I had a talk with my manager in which she announced I was safe from being laid off though several folks in my group are going to be affected. I know this is happening at a ridiculous rate all around the country. In my 20 years with the company, I have never feared for my job but it seems that nowadays it is difficult not to.

Well, this forum has influenced me in such a good way and I have seen so much goodwill here that I think I should give something back. This giveaway is my small way of giving thanks for having missed the bullet.

So, next Sunday around 1pm ET, I will run the total comments in here through a pseudo-random generator and see which post # it picks and give the mini trapper to that person. May it bring you more luck this year!

Thats great news. I am also a little worried. We had a round of layoffs in December and, I got by. Times are tuff. Thanks for the chance.

Congrats on not being laid off! I just found out I survived yet another round of layoffs myself. This is getting ridiculous.

I feel for any and all who have lost a job, I was watching the news earlier today and they were running layoff numbers like a stock ticker across the bottom of the screen...Cat -2000, Sprint -8000, and so on...

and they were doing this under a pic of Nobama...what irony...
