Anyone know what steel is used on the queen Cocobola knives? anyone have one? Hows the F/F?
Thanks

I'm thinking slim trapper or small trapper. Anyone know the length of the slim?

FWIW: I just sold a 1992 muskrat which had great fit & finish and it had 440 Stainless.

Not sure of more recent models.

"Was the muskrat a single spring?"...I believe it was a single spring.

The Cocobolo knives were made with D2 blades. Queen made that line from 2002 through early 2006...at that time they were discontinued and replaced with the birdseye maple handled line.

The Muskrat I have in D2 and Amber jigged is single spring and very slim, just right for the pocket.Forum member and friend neeman put me onto this.

What are the shiels made from? are they the typical NS? They almost look likealuminum from the pictures.
Thanks for the pictures, keep 'em coming. Nice collection eswartz. Elliot, yours looks alot like my Canal St. half moon trapper.I wish it had that swedge like yours though.
Who would have thought an ols stockman guy like myself getting a fancy for trappers and muscrats.

Still waiting. Does anyone know the pattern number on the small coco trapper and does it have half stops? It looks like it does(has half stops) looking at the pictures when I bought it. Hard to tell.

That is a #51T. And it has half-stops.

That one in the picture does not match the one I have exactly.

There is a #51 and a #51T. The #51 has a clip and a short pen blade. The #51T has a clip and a long spey blade.

The one in the picture is marked #51, but it is really a #51T. At some point it looks like Queen change the marking to include the T and changed the side of the spey nail nick.

Mine is the version with a #51T marking and a spey blade with the nail nick on the shield side.

Notice the good range of colours on this wood from eswartz's picture.

Too bad the BEM doesn't show this nice variation...or does it?

Thanks again eswartz. The joints will last longer with the half stops. They'll take a bit of getting used to.
Willgoy, the wood looks fantastic. No two are alike. looks like a great line to have collected.

Navihawk,

Be careful about the shield. They can come off some times pretty easily. Dealers recommends epoxy them if they do fall off.

God Bless
