• Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! I hope that you all have something to be grateful for this year and for many years to come
  • America has reached 250 years, and I am grateful to be here, in the best country in the world. Thank every one of you who helps make this country a better place, those who have gone before and risked it all, and those who've paid the ultimate price to make the United States what we are today.

Happy Birthday America! Let Freedom Ring for all time!

I have a Queen whitler. It has D2 steel blades. I carry it almost daily and love the fact that D2 sharpens to hair-splitting edge and keeps the edge a long time. The steel tends to stain. Do you guys just let it stain and call it character or hit it with Flitz? I do like to cut food with mine so that precluded the use of Flitz.

I let all my Queen D2s stain. If it's a blade I know I'll be eating with often, I have, in the past, stuck the blade in a potatoe overnight just to give the patina a good start.

I let my queen mini trapper stain. It doesn't stain much if I wipe the blade right after use.

I just let it stain. I have a small stockman in curly maple and a cattle king in amber bone and they both look great with just a wipe down after use.

I let 'em stain.
...although my Queens in D2 really hardly stain at all. Especially compared to 1095 or other carbon steels, I find that D2 tool steel is nearly as corrosion- and stain-resistant as a stainless steel.
