I want to thank Mr. Ryan Daniels, Vice President Sales, Queen cutlery for his personal attention and the excellent customer service provided by them.
Awhile ago I had whined about my displeasure about three Queen folders that I had purchased in the last 3 months.
A Amber Honey #40 Gunstock and a #31 Cattle King (large stockman) and a Schatt & Morgan #3L F&W Mountain Man LB. All blades on the three knives wouldn't cut a piece of copy paper w/o using a sawing motion which left a ragged cut. All had D2 blades.

Mr. Daniels took the time to respond to my email and stepped up to the plate and told me to send them in to give them an opportunity to make them right.

Queen received my knives on 9/20/13 and I got them back today, 9/25/13. The edges on them are simply a delight to use. All 6 blades (total), will make a sweet clean slice through a sheet of copy paper. I have sent Mr. Daniels a thank you email.

Customer service just doesn't get any better than this.

While I can't be sure, I believe that the stock that I bought may have been in the Dealers inventory prior to the the Daniels purchasing Queen and thus suffered from the same complaints about the edges that so many others here have mentioned from the old owners.

Queen sure has taken care of any concerns that I may have had about purchasing another knife from them. I'm old school and appreciate good customer service.

If the new edges on these folders are any indication of how the new Queens will be under the Daniels new ownership of Queen, we can expect to
see an excellent blade coming from Queen Cutlery in the future.

Again, thank you for the excellent customer service Mr. Daniels .

My regards, Tom

Thank you for posting this. I have carried one of their models in my pocket everyday since February and could not be more pleased.

Great news. I just sent in a pre Daniels knife for some TLC. Followed the same steps you did. Dropped Mr. Daniels an email and ask for a bit of help. He simply said send it in, I'll let CS know it's coming. I expect a little longer turn around than yours, but I'm expecting to be very happy.

That's great Tom. I'm glad they took care of you. You do have a fair point in that the knives you bought are probably from the pre-Daniels ownership.

There's only been a short time frame that Queen knives have not been up to par and that is from about 2008 until Daniels bought them.

Evidently I was wrong when I said that Ken Daniels didn't care. I'm happy to eat those words.

It's nice to know that Queen is being properly handled now. I wish good luck and all the best to Daniels:thumbup:

Customer svc. is what will make or break a company, sounds like their on the right track.

From what I've read here, it seems Queen is on track to produce the best knives in it's long history. The new ownership seems particularly responsive to customer feedback. Thanks for sharing your experience.

Queen really does a great job. I have been itching to do some projects with them since the Daniels took over. It will happen soon!

At the end of August I had the good fortune to be able to stop by the Queen Factory. Ashley in the factory store was terrific help. I left with a fixed blade light hunter bear head, honey amber bone whittler and honey amber bone congress, and am extremely happy with all 3.

Thanks for posting Tom...I just sent my S&M Heritage this morning to get some things sorted out and the 5 day turnaround sounds great. Hopefully mine is just as quick.

I buy lots of knives but never from companies with sub-standard customer service. :) I have a lot of Queen knives and will continue to buy them. I just wish they would bring back their version of the dogleg pattern (basically a mini-trapper with a secondary pen blade).

I sent them my S&M coke bottle jack late last week. An email from Elaine says I should have it back around October 11th.
Figure about 3 weeks to get back your Heritage.
The last S&M I sent to them took a month.

I have received a nice reply to my thank you email to Mr. Ryan Daniels:

"Tom,
I'm glad that you were satisfied with
the new edge. It's hard to say if the product was old stock or after we bought it but it wouldn't have mattered by purchasing the name we bought the past obligations. I appreciate your patience as we are trying to get great consistent quality but you can't turn on a dime. I appreciate your business and any words if feedback you can give our company . Have a good day.

K. Ryan Daniels"

I sent him a copy of this link. It is only right to give credit where credit is due.

Tom, that's great news! Thank you very much for posting about your experience.
And, I'm very glad to hear that Queen has stepped up to the plate and knocked one out of the park.

Great to hear!
Schatt & Morgan have become my favorite knives, and I really like the new Gentleman's Stag series, little knives are my preference for work as they don't freak people out. Just got one of the clip bladed pen knives today, it will be in my pocket tomorrow morning when I leave for work.
I have a very nice mini trapper from 2006 in my pocket now, just a sweet knife and darn near perfect.

Oooh...I'm hoping that it's closer to 5 days than it is to 3 weeks. I guess 3 weeks is not too bad, but I tend to get really impatient

Got this one a couple of weeks ago and am very satisfied.

Very nice. My favorites are from the now discontinued Cocobolo line. I've got three of them so far and always look for others.

I've been wishing for one of these in bone for ages. Hopefully it might be on the cards under Mr Daniels.
