Queen Cutlery & excellent customer service.

I buy lots of knives but never from companies with sub-standard customer service. :) I have a lot of Queen knives and will continue to buy them. I just wish they would bring back their version of the dogleg pattern (basically a mini-trapper with a secondary pen blade).

Completely agree with the entire post. I have a number of Queens and will be buying more.

My Queen dogleg is one of the nicest knives I have. Easily on a par with GEC for build quality. And the D2 is excellent.

My Queen/Burke Grandad Barlow is one of my favorites. But when I got it, it was horrendeous, so was the S&M File and Wire Grandaddy barlow. Gaps like Mike Tyson's teeth, and edges like old iceskates.

But mine were fixable without sending in. Padded vice, hammer and anvil, peen, then sand, then polish. Then grind away at the D2 barlow for a while on my sander.

Two of my favorites now.

I really like the look of the amber bone, and their D2 is great!

Off topic: Bigfattyt, How thick is the pen blade on the File & Wire? I have been thinking about getting the F&W but was curious about the pen blade.

Zippofan and Knarfeng, nice dogleg jacks.

I have become a big fan of Queen Cutlery's knives. Love their historic names (both Queen and Schatt & Morgan), their genuine historic ties, their styling, their quality/value ratios, their old school method of manufacturing... And now hearing the Daniels are truly standing behind their new purchase of this company, and standing behind it's current and recent past products... Well, just makes their products that much more desirable :-)

I have had excellent customer service from Queen. I have sent several knives, older knives to them to have blades tightened up. They did it free of charge, even though some of the knives were 30 years old. Easty to deal with and Im looking forward to getting more of their product.

I really like my first one purchased about a month ago. It came rather sharp. And very shiny.

Awesome to hear. Ive sold my worst queen butterknife offenders but my DB barlow could use a regrind. I do have a few 11 pattern knives that came pretty damn sharp though.

Ive been looking hard at a 51 trapper jack. There just shouldnt be so many other knives that I want more.

I sent them my S&M coke bottle jack late last week. An email from Elaine says I should have it back around October 11th.
Figure about 3 weeks to get back your Heritage.
The last S&M I sent to them took a month.

Update....
Elaine said I'd receive my knife back around October 11th but I received it today, Sept 30th.
They received it on Sept 23rd so turn around time was excellent.
Thanks Queen.

I sent in my Heritage on 9/25 and after contacting Elaine for a status update (on 10-18 I think), she said the knife would ship out 10/23. 10/28 rolls around and still no knife, I contacted Elaine again and she apologized and said she would ask to get this knife expedited. I'm not bashing, things happen; I just want to share that for each email that I've sent, Elaine has replied by the next morning at the very latest. I wish that my turnaround was 5 days like some of you lucky folks, but 4-6 week turnarounds are very possible.

I sent a Baby Sunfish that they received on Sept 12th. Yesterday, Oct 29th I sent an e-mail to see how it was doing. Elainne got back to me right away but she only said she would check on it. My knife had 2 pin cracks and the secondary blade blocked the main from closing so I knew it wouldn't be quick. I'm not worried at this point. I'm real happy they are willing to look at a knife that is 8 years old even though it is a "Safe Queen". I'll let you all know how it ends up.

I just received an e-mail for Elainne at Queen. She said they repaired the blade issues but can't repair the scales, no reason given. I can either have my knife back or another S&M knife. I picked the later. I'll let you know what comes of it when it happens.

i need to warm up to their handles a bit before i plunk down some cash but good to hear about the customer service.

I am interested in their products and hearing about the good customer service is a big positive toward purchasing from them.
Thanks for the information.

Hope this isn't a threadjack, but Queen was independent then bought by Ontario, then by the Davises? I haven't bought a Queen in years (5 at least), but other than the bad edge profile on the thick blades (whittler and canoe, the secondaries and all the blades on a congress were fine), I had no problems with fit and finish. Seems the Ontario ownership didn't help QC much as that timeframe seems to be the genesis of a lot of the complaints.

That's great they took care of you so quickly and professionally, has any one seen any of the new stock being produced? The few I had were surely older stock, I hope the new management is allowing the blades to be ground thinner.
Compared to the other place in the same town, if the started grinding as they do, I know I'd be adding to my collection right away with some D2 folders!

I want to add to the kudos given to Queen Cutlery for it's latest proof that it's stepping up to the plate. In my case, they not only stepped to the plate... they batted a home run! They simply did something totally above and beyond.
Months ago, while attending the Syracuse Gun Show, I purchased a fixed blade Queen hunting knife to add to my knife collection. Unlike most of my knives that are purchased new in box, this one was previously owned. It was totally in new unused condition. But... when I took the knife home, I noticed that the previous owner had at some point in time placed the knife into it's sheath incorrectly, and sliced the leather (through and through). I collect knives, and though I'll never need the sheath, I do like to store all their accessories, boxes, paperwork, and such. Anyhow, no box and papers was okay, but it bugged me that the sheath was damaged. I sent an email to Queen to explain the situation and to see if they sold sheaths for this model seperately... Well, they sent me a new sheath absolutely at no cost to me! They also sent along a nice recent catalog, which I love having, it not only showing a good portion of their line-up, but also showing a few of the Queen knives I already own. Yup... my favorites were already Queen and Case.... This latest action by Queen, reinforces my decision to have Queen on top of my list :-)

It's been 2 weeks since they said I'd be getting a new knife. I just sent an email to Elainne at Queen as a reminder. She answered right away but only said that she would tell "Them" about sending another knife to me. I have left it up to her to pick out a replacement mainly because I feel lucky that they are considering my problem at all. So as of now I have nothing to post but I will as soon as something happens. I hope the delay is because they are sending something special to me. I'm trying not to get my hopes to high but I can't wait to post some pics for everybody:)
I'm keeping the faith.
Thanks,

Queen sent a 061222 to me yesterday to replace the Baby Sunfish that they couldn't make right for me. It's a medium coke bottle pattern that looks and feels like it will be a great EDC.
Here's a picture that I picked of the internet.
