Just read this on another forum and was wondering if anyone knew this or if I'm behind in times.

"Oh, BTW, did you hear that Queen Cutlery was sold to another owner. No longer owned by Servotronics (parent compnay to Ontario). Seriously."

As far as my information goes,Daniels Family Knives is negotiations with Servotronics to purchase Queen Cutlery. I haven't seen any info on the sale being completed.

I saw an announcement from Ryan Daniels on 6/8 that they were in talks but I haven't heard its been sold yet. I also heard that Ken Daniels was talking about it at Blade.

It is the same Daniels Family that sold their share of GEC to the Founder of GEC. And now have knives produced under the Tuna Valley Cutlery brand.

Interesting....I wonder if it is a stock sale, an asset sale, an intellectual property sale, or a mixture of the above? Suffice to say if they are in talks then it may not close for some time.

I read the same announcement on the 8th. I'm hoping that this means good things for traditional knife aficionados.

I would just like to share some great excitement happing to our business with all my friends and family here at AAPK. As of June 4 we are in negoations to purchase Queen Cutlery Co. / Schatt & Morgan where if succesful we will be taking over all operations. Everything is just in negoations and nothing is final yet but once happen I think you'll see lots of new and exciting USA made lines which we have always been committed to.

Now that is cool news.

Hey, maybe now they'll finally make that square bolstered serpentine jack in 1095... been waiting for 6 years, might as well keep dreaming. :)

A little dangerous to announce negotiations before the sale is complete. I hope it is successful. Servotronics has held onto Queen for a long time!

I've had some dealings with the Daniels family and I'm very exited to see where this goes. This opens another door to the traditional knife style. I got the little info I quoted on the jungle training forum. Jeff Randall posted it as he was informed at blade.

The fact that they have announced it already tells me that they are close to closing this deal.
The Daniels family knows knives and they have been great representatives for themselves and their merchandise for a long time.

They will succeed with the Queen name and hopefully will restore some of those passed qualities we used to see.

brets-ftw: Queen and Case have that pattern mastered don't they? What a pretty little knife that is and I hope they bring a 1095 version out. If the management is out there I have a message "Bring back the Cozy Glen line fellows!" :)

rma100: That is a very interesting start isn't it? Has a handle on it like the big jacks that Case made but it is only a little bigger than GEC's 66 pattern. That pattern has a lot of possibilities and I'll be watching to see how they dress it out. Square bolstered jack is my favorite knife of all time, I'm biased lol.

I'm a big fan of most Traditional Jacks. And among others, I have a decent collection of Case 65's.
