As I try to accustom myself to smaller knives, I've found one that I am really smitten with: the Queen Dan Burke little barlow. To me, as close to a perfect production knife as it gets. The warmth and depth of color of the rough cut amber bone handles really blew my socks off. The hue is reminiscent of how the maple leaves will be around here in another week or two. Fit and finish was right on, no complaints from me. The D2 blades were shaving sharp right out of the box. And that lil' wharnie pen blade is super cool beans (though kind of a nailbuster to open).
A perfect companion for touring local wineries and orchards during my favorite time of year.

Nice lookin' barlow, Corey. Dan designs (and makes) some great knives. And he's a hell of a character to boot!

Very nice looking barlow, the fit & finish looks like it is pretty good in your pictures.
cheers

You should be ashamed to own that knife. Send it to me and I'll make sure no one finds out about it.

Kidding aside, that is a super looking knife. I know you will enjoy using it; looks great for EDC. Heck, even Sunday carry.

A real humdinger! One of 3 in my current rotation.

It's a shame that photographs don't capture the full depth of the color in the handles. I posted nearly 10 pictures in my thread when I first got this knife and even 10 pics didn't quite paint the whole picture.

Carry it well!

That is a great looking barlow with D2 and a wharncliffe secondary blade! Fine working traditional knife you got there! Congrats!

This knife is on the top of my traditional "to buy" list. I like hearing about excellent out-of-box sharpness on new Queens.

I really like Dans designs as well. That one is a beauty and is a perfect packin' size.I might have to snag me one of those.:D

Hi,

I was kind of figuring I had all the Barlows I need. After seeing your new Dan Burke, Cory. I'm thinking I was a bit hasty. it's a real working beauty!

I have one of those and it is a real peach. It was absolutely dull out of the box, but once I got it sharpened up, it has been a wonderful user. Plus, it doesn't get much more traditional than a barlow. Heck, Mark Twain used to write about them. That's a whole pile of history in your pocket!

Corey, I love mine!! I've had it for a couple of months and it's a great Knife!
The Bone on mine is very nice and the colors really look nice and rich!
It's was Razor sharp out of the box! It rides nice in my pocket!
Thanks for sharing.
