Here's mine below a similar old Case.

I love that knife. It is in my pocket more than any other. Nice pictures, btw.

I'm not usually a fan of Barlows but after reading this thread, something about this knife really sang to me. I like the Dan Burke/Queen Winterbottom knives, and I ordered this one. Comoha was right-this is one fine knife.

Thanks for the heads up.

I had to have one and ordered one last night. Just got the shipping confirmation. I can't wait.

A better picture that I posted in that other thread. I thought I might as well post it here also.

This is one very nice knife. It is a toss up between this and the Case swayback jack which gets carried the most.

I just went ahead and ordered 2nd small Dan Burke barlow after reading only 300 were to be made. I am not sure if its correct or not but I like this one so much I am going to get a spare, not that I still am able in terms of finance.

I'm sure I won't. My favorite patterns to carry are based off the single-spring Canoes (Queen) and SAK Alox Soldier/Pioneers. A stout spear point main blade and a Wharnie secondary seems perfect -- and once I get a good edge on it, Queen D2 is usually just dandy. Yep, I know I'll like this one.

Mine came nearly push cut sharp from the box. I used strop with black compoud first and then spend quite bit time with green compound to finish blade that it push cuts evenly.

The leather strop loaded with black compound works surprisingly well on D2. I used that to even Queen country cousin's flat spot in blade. Took me less than 15 mins get flat spot off and make blade push cut sharp.

Good info. In the past, I have took some of mine to my belt grinder and convexed them (usually only those with particularly thick "edges") -- I'm hoping mine is as nice as yours.

I have one as well, and it is a great knife in the pocket to carry. I am always concerned with too much pocket bulge as my tool bags sometimes sit right on the top of my pockets. This baby is perfect. It is the classiest work knife I own, and the D2 is great.

I love the fact it really looks a lot like an old classic right out of the box. I enjoy this one more than almost any others I own. And I never pull it out of my pocket without someone wanting to see it, handle it and admire it.

Great knife!

Nice knife.............whats a good place to buy this from ?

I don't know if Mike ships overseas, but I have bought three knives from him and the service was great and the price was fair. You can find him here:

I see that Barlow as well as others on that page. He also has Barlow style knives from other makers. There are certainly other fine vendors that are mentioned here on this site as well.
