......Thank you kindly Sunburst....I would enjoy looking over any Queen photos you would like to share !

tarmix101, I do believe your "kit" would treat a fellow "right" on any woods bumming adventure; it seems as if all the "bases" have been covered in your photo for a successful trip into the back country.

-Regards to all.

This is all great info - I'll have to hope for the best for what I get. If
I have to call them, or get service, well, so be it.

But what I wuz wonderin' about was the lanyard thing - what do you use, how do you make one...etc. ?

Thanks

Wow - didn't expect such a volume of response (great!).

I did notice the lanyard hole, and I've never made a lanyard "string" (or whatever the right term is). I think I need one, since I'm used to the Spydie clipons for the past few years (great knives, but no romance with FRN, is there ;).

Anyway, I don't want to lose this puppy when it arrives (tomorrow, hopefully). Any advice on making lanyard strings, how to affix (if that's a word ?!) it to my pocket, etc. ??

BTW, that looks like 550 para cord on some of those lanyard strings...is it?

Thanks
edb

I'm partial to rawhide lanyards myself, and I think this one looks pretty spiffy on my crimson bone/1095 Mtn Man. I don't use it for retention, rather as a means of keeping it positioned tip up in the pocket, and easy withdrawal from the pocket.

Since I have it handy, here's a pic of my Stag/1095 Mtn Man. I also have the S&M File and Wire in Golden Root bone and ATS-34, but no picture, alas.

Hopefully you get one with no blade play. My S&M is the only one of my three that doesn't have any. However, I find it doesn't really bug me so much on the other two.

Regardless, I think you'll really like your knife. Congrats!

Congrats!

I almost purchased the stag version myself. I love the look of that knife. Ultimately I knew what I was going to put my new folder through and went with the "crimson bone" Still not sure I made the right decision after seeing all the pics of the stag MM.

Nice knife LBG:thumbup:

Of all my Mountain Man folders made by Queen, about 70% have very slight bladeplay, but not enough to effect use of the knife.

The others have locks that slam home like a bank vault.

Mine isn't the end of the world as far as blade play, but I'm anal retentive about that. It's enough to send it in IMHO.
