Queen or GEC?

So I have in my sweaty mitts a GEC Northfield Yellow Rose.

A fine gentleman that I have never met, or heck, even talked to donated the GEC to me to get me on board!

First off I would like to thank this nameless gentleman (cough.... Flymon....cough cough).

It has been in my pocket for two days now. I will be posting my thoughts and some pics a bit later in another thread.

Just to say, I don't think this will be my last GEC.

Any pics? What pattern? Congrats btw!

To Flymon, awesome gesture!

I have a few pics but have not uploaded them yet. (I have been fighting computer issues, and had to restore my system to an earlier saved version......hopefully that stops all the shenanigans)

It is the "Yellow Rose". #235110EC Northfield Yellow Rose #04. So I believe that it is a #23 pattern? I will have to look at the tube.

On a side note, it bit me pretty good. I was playing with it, working the action to lighten it up a bit breaking it in. It is already much smoother after two days of opening it.

That 1095 gets pretty sharp, don't it?
You sure it's smoother, or are you just getting used to the spring on that beast? Not every model has springs as heavy as the spring on that one. It seems the newer patterns have more like a 5-6 pull, as opposed to the 7-8+ of the older designs (old being relative, the company is only 5 years old).

Nice, yeah its a #23. I have one and they are big knives. The break in will be worth it :)

Definitely got much smoother in a few days of play. With a bit of oil.

This one could use a long pull!

I just shot a quick cell pic to show the size difference between the 23 and 73. I also threw in a 54 Harness Jack. The long pull on the 23 is nice :)
