Queen Stockman model differences

Queens are done the old fashioned way - not tumbled - to the blade backs and tangs are square and crisp. I find the F&F on the new amber bone Queens to be like the older XX era Case knives. The amber bone is reminiscent of Case XX era red stag.

Thankks for that bit of info. This makes a big difference to me as far as a traditional knife goes. It should be done the old gfashioned way. I have to get a Queen one of these days.

Cool Stuff. STeven, as per usual, your collection is truly awesome. Your knives are far beyond anything I would ever be able to buy, but I do enjoy looking at them.

Neeman and Peter Parker, thanks for your comments. I'm still trying to decide which model, but your comments are helping.

Thanks,
Frank

I have a Camillus, a couple of Bokers and a Queen 4" stockmans, and the Queen is much more solid and heavy duty

The 4 1/4" is a real step up in a big working knife, too big to sit comfortably in a front pocket.

Which is why I carry ALL my bigger stockman knives in a Large William Henry Clipcase...I carry a lot of crap in my pockets and it beats the hell of a fine knife's finish.

The W-H protects the knife, and keeps it at hand.

STeven, That's a no no around here, knife purses is a kinda sissy..

STeven, thank you for your generous offer. That just knocks my socks off.
Although I greatly appreciate it, I've carried a Buck 301 (3 7/8) and haven't had issues with that size.

Gents,
I've thought about it and decided that bigger is better.
I think I'll go for the gusto and try the cattle king. If it turns out to be too big for the pocket, I may carry it in a belt sheath, sissy or not.

I'll post a pic when it comes in.

Pocket lint and scratched up bolsters may not be sissy, but they piss me off, so I stick to the W-H clipcase, thank you very much.

IF anyone thinks I'm a sissy, let me know in person and I'll scratch your eyes out.:D

Yeeeeee HAAAWWWW

Brother THAT's what I'm talkin about!

Got the Cattle King. What a NICE piece of D2 to put in my pocket. Good thing I mostly wear jeans. I don't think it would work for slacks because it is indeed BIG. Nice fit and finish, and as a pleasant surprise it came reasonably sharp. The springs are strong, which I like in a knife this size. I have never had a traditional knife that didn't have a tad of wobble in the blade before. This one is as solid as a rock.

Thanks for all the help.
And thanks to Kohai for warming my heart.

Birthday is in a couple of days, but I'm celebrating today because it's hard to celebrate after a 12-hr work day, which is what I'm mostly pulling this month. Too much work and company won't hire any more engineers. So I got to open my present.

Congrats, Frank and Happy Birthday! Enjoy it.

sissy ? perhaps , but it keeps the lint out , and stops my spare mag from banging into my knives :)

The Queen cattle king does not.

Congradulations knarfeng! My Marbles CK is the only one I have in that size and is the absolute limit for carrying a large slippy in the pocket. My Marbles is suppose to have an ATS-34 main blade. I don't know if that is true but the two smaller ones are 1095 since they turned colors after eating an apple with them. The main blade didn't turn. Regardless it is such a beautiful knife I couldn't part with it!
