Queen's D2 steel

I agree, oldtymer, on the fine edge. I had an expert sharpener put a super fine (5000 grit +) edge on an #06L teardrop linerlock that would push cut toilet paper cleanly. Best edge I've ever had. After just a few weeks use it lost the super fine edge but kept cutting for a long, long time. I think something around 400-600 grit is best for the final sharpening, followed by a little stropping just to catch any burr. Queen's D2 is tops.
