Quenching 1084 at 1500f and it won't harden!

ooh good call that in the white container is the stuff that I use. I do find that warming the blade a bit helps it to stick and spread evenly.
 
I guess this is an old thread but I just had this same issue with a 1084 blade I quenched and the file test dug into the decarb. Scared me a little. I read all the comments and filed through all the decarb and it’s skating like Gretzky. It’s in the oven as we speak
