I am making my first folder based on the sod buster junior. I cut the two pieces of steel and drilled the holes. I wanted to test it on a piece of wood first so I pinned the back down and then pinned the blade into place. I even moved the hole up a litlle for the blade to give it a little more pressure and snap. Can anyone tell me if there is a trick to getting a nice snap on the folders? I don't want to get it all together and have it weak. Thanks:confused:

From what I've read and tried out the snap comes from having a greater distance from the pivot to the end of the tang than from the pivot to the top/bottom of the tang. Good Luck

There are really so many variables to take into consideration that it would be hard to explain but here goes
the size of the tang, distance from the pivot hole to the end of the tang, the size of the spring the distance of the spring from the canter pin, and the temper of the spring theres more I'm sure but that's all I can think of at the moment..
