Question about a C42 Viele

If any of you have a C42 Viele I need help with a question. When closing the knife, the ball detent seems to stop the blade about 1/3 shut and I have to push the blade firmly to close it hearing the ball "pop.". Is this normal?

Hi Dan. Yes, that is normal. The tang has to overcome the ball bearing and push it aside (the ball bearing is mounted inside the spring/lock), then, with continued rotation, the ball drops into a detent drilled into the tang. That is what holds the blade closed.
