Question about another type of NWKG plans for sale on internet

There is a different set of no weld grinder plans for sale on Ebay. I won't post the link, 'cause it's against the rules. However, it looks easier to build than the one in the for sale area in this forum. It has a very simplistic look, even though the author tried very hard to position the grinder so you can't see the tracking mechanism in the photos.

Has anyone seen these plans? Are they better, or worse, than the NWKG plans? I have a feeling it's the latter.

Thanks.

the thing is that you will never get the customer service like you do from tracy mickley. he will help you and do anything he can for you. plus he sells every thing you need to make one. i have one and abslutley love it.

If your talking about the plans by Mack. I have a set of those plans as well as a set of Tracy Mickley's. I have not build either as of yet but have studied both sets of plans. The Mack grinder and plans are much simpler than the Mickley's. But we are talking apples and oranges or a Grizzly to KMG. I’m sure the Mack grinder would do the job but it is just not as detailed as Mickley’s. When I do build one it will be Mickley’s.

I have the plans by Mac, I'm not impressed. You get more information from one picture in Tracy's plans. In fact I just ordered tmickley's plans this morning.

thanks for that link, I have the plans bookmarked, but its nice to see some of the machining. I am making a kmg clone in my metalwork class starting on monday and Im not sure about turning the wheels and making all the pieces square.

We have a mill and lathe in my shop class (ive never used either but i dont think that that will be problematic)

If anybody has any pointers and tips on machining the wheels and pieces, that would be great. how tight should the bearings fit in the wheels? Thanks!

Sorry for the Hijack by the way, I don't know about the other NWKG plans.

Kieth, FYI, the NWKG is designed using lots of square tubing and angle stock, rather than thick steel plate. Atleast that's what I've noticed in the photos.

Good luck with your build.
