Does anyone know how similar in color aluminum bronze (954) is to phosphorous bronze (510)? I'm making a knife with an aluminum bronze guard, and I need some bronze rod for pins, but the only bronze rod I can find is silicon and phosphorous. Which grade would most closely match the 954? Or would anyone tell the difference?

Well, I went ahead and bought pin stock of both types (phosphorous and silicon), so I'll get to see for myself, but if anyone has some experience here, feel free to speak up.

Phillip,

There was just a post on bronze in the last week. I think the outcome was aluminum was a more yellow while the Si was the traditional color you think of.

Ok, thanks. I don't have time to read every thread here, so I missed that one. I'll see if I can find it.
