I just bought a Cara Cara and wondered what type of blade bushing they use? Aluma/bronze or silicon/nylon???

The FRN Cara Cara has the phosphor bronze bushings. Likely the same for all.

They are PB bushings and they can bend pretty easy so be careful if you take the knife apart for a cleaning.

Thanx guys. Also, how good is the the 13crMOv blade steel? I read somewhere that Spyderco ordered 440HC but in the latest run, the chromium content wasn't high enough from the foundry and they called it this. What are they hardened to?

Hardened to 61RC (Nice to see it being done, especially in such a low price folder) and steel performance for me compared to a Buck 110 has been less corrosion resistance but longer edge holding and more overall toughness. It's pretty wear resistant steel in my experience.

It's always been 8Cr13MoV. The Chinese originally told Spyderco that their best steel was 440C, so that's what Spyderco ordered for the byrds. When Spyderco received the first batch, Sal had them tested and found that they weren't the same as 440C, so they had to change the label to something else. The ones marked "440C" are not in actuality "440C", but are instead 8Cr13MoV. They are all the same steel. Hardness on them is around 61.
