Question about cable modems...

I just did the wireless router thing with my DSL. I have strong moderate computer knowledge, but am no where in the professional IT range. It was relatively easy to set up and works like a dream. I've set it up with encryption so I feel a lot better...expecially because there are seem to be five other wireless networks in my neighborhood!!!!!! (I was shocked...I'd have thought one or two.) I got the Linksys WRT54G for something like $60ish (after a $10 rebate) and feel it was a great decision all around (I'm sure there are others that are also good). This was to link up my wife's new laptop she received for work. I'm working on building a second computer to go in a yet-to-be determined location and will not hesitate to network it though this wireless router.

it might work if it was the same computer, but not a different one. it wont recognize your IP address.
Confused... If the IP is provided by RR, how does that affect anything? The router resolves the IP address assigned to you from the network. How you configure the IP address for the PC's in your network is irrelevant. Unless you have a different flavor of RR service.
